The World Famous 'Taj Mahal Hotel' in Mumbai. Very plush and prices to match. An excellent air-conditioning system in the moderately sized upmarket shopping mall on the ground floor. Just right to spend a bit of extra cash whilst cooling off from the intense city heat Photograph Taken in India

An example of one of the beautiful Catholic churches in the outskirts of Mumbai, especially when you consider that around 95% of religion in India is not Christian. This is situated in Bandra, one off the many suburbs of Mumbai and is well of the beaten track Photograph Taken in India

Auto Rickshaws used by almost everyone to travel around the suburbs. They are not permitted into the main city center. It seems that almost nobody will walk anywhere when an 'Auto' will take them for a few rupees Photograph Taken in India

Known by the locals as 'Fashion Street' in central Mumbai. Here you can buy trendy clothes from India and the West. All sold from market stalls and do bargain ! Wait for a while and if the Police come they will pack up their wares and disappear within 4 or 5 seconds (that's the truth on the speed), this is only for the un-licensed vendors Photograph Taken in India

If you need to post a parcel abroad (as I did), it must be sewn up in linen and then waxed and sealed by someone outside the post office. It has to be done in a very special way otherwise the Post Office will not accept it. They have to view the contents before it gets sealed up. Don't tape it up first, and be prepared for a half hundred weight of paperwork too. It should only cost about 30-50 rupees to get the parcel sewn and a few hundred to post it via land mail to Europe. The driving in India is beyond bad, it seems that drinking and driving is not considered bad. So many of the truck drivers will drink and drive and trust in the Gods, they seem to believe that if it's their time to go then nothing will stop them from dying. As you can see from the overturned truck ! Photograph Taken in India

A pot seller's shop in the middle of nowhere, literally ! All the pots are hand made and sun baked, obviously these are for the locals use and not intended to be sold as a Tourist item Photograph Taken in India

It's strange to think that there are vast rural spaces filled with green jungle only a couple of hours away from Mumbai, which is one of the most populated cities in the world Photograph Taken in India

This ship became grounded in a huge storm whilst in Mumbai. It became a major tourist attraction for the locals, the shore would be absolutely packed with thousands of locals on a Sunday. When the tide was out, it would be possible to walk all the way out to the ship. A week after this photograph was taken there were 3 tugs also grounded in the rescue attempt. Now this 15,000 tonne Russian Ship is to be sold as scrap Photograph Taken in India

Some of the 5,000,000 slum houses perched on the edge of roads, buildings, railway tracks and just about anything that doesn't move (too fast) in Mumbai and it's inner suburbs Photograph Taken in India

Yet more slum houses. This is one of the less pleasurable memories you take away with you. But rest assured India has much worse, but to completely contrast it, India has probably some of the most spectacular scenery and buildings in the World Photograph Taken in India
